I live in North East Scotland with my husband, 2 boys, 2 cats and an assistance dog too. My oldest son has had an autism diagnosis since the age of 9. My wish for understanding of the autism spectrum led me to Friendly Access and I now have the privilege of working for them.

My name is Karien van Elk and I volunteer for Surfable Scotland. I also have an advisory role for them as a physiotherapist.
I came to England in 2000 and have been working for the NHS since then. I recently moved to Moray from Manchester with my daughter and dog. We absolutely love it here; enjoying the nature and friendly people. I am so happy to have been introduced to Surfable Scotland and to be able to help them with their cause.

Hi, I’m Joanna and love all things outdoors. I work as an NHS Speech and Language Therapist and delighted to be part of SurfABLE Scotland’s Advisory Team offering advice on effective tools and strategies.
